Meet the Advocate

Biography of Tina Marie DeLong

Tina Marie, founder of Greater Reading Educational Advocates, is a Board Certified Educational Advocate through the National Special Education Advocacy Institute (www.nseai.org).  To ensure that the clients are kept abreast of pertinent information impacting their children, Tina Marie participates in ongoing professional development related to dyslexia, special education  and instruction of children with disabilities. She has completed training through NSEAI, Wrightslaw, Right to Education Task Force, The Advocacy Institute,  Parent Education Network, and the Public Interest Law Center of Philadelphia.

Tina Marie is a founding member of Decoding Dyslexia Pennsylvania (www.decodingdyslexiapa.org), a grass roots movement driven by PA families concerned with the limited access to educational interventions for dyslexia within our public schools. Decoding Dyslexia PA is an integral part of the Pennsylvania Dyslexia Legislative Coalition (PA DLC) which is the name for the alliance formed that consists of both the grass roots and professional organizations.

Tina Marie is current enrolled in the Special Education Advocate Training Project®  (SEAT) program through the Council of Parent Attorneys and Advocates, Inc. (COPAA) and the Dyslexia Certificate Program through the Dyslexia Training Institute. She is a member of COPAA (Council of Parent Attorneys and Advocates) and IDA (International Dyslexia Association).

Tina Marie has recently accepted an appointment by Berks County Commissioner, Christian Leinbach, to the Berks County Library Board of Trustees.
